Course Details

This 8 day course prepares new child welfare practitioners for child protection delegation in British Columbia. It offers learners the opportunity to explore and practice skills imperative to their role. Skills related to reflective practice and critical thinking, trauma informed approach, working with conflict, collaboration and engagement and StepWise interviewing will be explored. Learners will have several opportunities throughout the course to practice these newly developed skills. The course ends with a group activity during which learners bring together their knowledge from the previous courses and apply it to a case scenario and reflective practice discussion.
