SUPPORTING STUDENT SUCCESS AT JIBC

Our donors understand the critical role JIBC plays in educating and training BC’s justice and public safety professionals. Their generous gifts provide financial assistance for students, fund specialized training equipment and resources, and contribute to innovative projects and applied research.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Today’s students face higher costs for their post-secondary education than previous generations and many struggle to balance school with part-time work and other commitments. Donor-funded awards and bursaries make education more affordable, provide recognition and encouragement, and help many students have more time for school and community involvement opportunities that support their future career goals.

ESTABLISH A NEW AWARD OR BURSARY

Establishing an award or bursary is a meaningful way to honour a loved one, commemorate a special occasion, or create a legacy. Awards and bursaries can be named for an individual, family or organization. Awards are based on criteria that may include academic achievement, commitment in non-academic fields such as community service, student leadership and/or volunteerism, and financial need. Bursaries are based on financial need.

Awards and bursaries can be established through:

  • Annual funding (minimum commitment of $1,000 per year for five-years, paid annually or in a lump sum)
  • Endowed funding (minimum commitment of $25,000 paid in a lump sum)
SUPPORT AN EXISTING AWARD OR BURSARY

Donations can be made to many existing awards, bursaries and scholarships. Please contact us for more information about choosing an award to support.

By donating to the areas of greatest need at JIBC, you can help fund important priorities such as specialized training equipment and resources and support for students.

WAYS TO GIVE

JIBC employees can make regular donations via payroll. To learn more, please email us.

By leaving a gift in your Will to support JIBC and our students, you can help future generations of British Columbians. We can help you choose an area to support that is meaningful to you and best supports public safety education and students.

The Foundation is proud to be participating as a charity partner in the CAGP Will Power Campaign – a national public education campaign designed to inspire Canadians to think differently about charitable giving and empower them to create positive change through their Wills. For more information about this special giving opportunity, please visit Leave a Gift in your Will for Future Generations

Donors make a non-cash gift ranging from new or gently used training equipment to real estate. The JIBC Foundation only accepts non-cash gifts that will be of use to JIBC. A tax receipt will be issued for the fair market value of the gift upon a third-party valuation.
