Course Details
Learners will demonstrate the key theoretical and practical techniques on how to collect, document, catalogue, and analyze evidence and information; make appropriate case recommendations; and organize information in an investigative file. Learners will also examine the role and responsibilities of investigators and contrast the various stages of investigative work: from attending the scene, crime scene management, to gathering information. Learners will use of a variety of investigative techniques and methods including the principles of major case management and documentation of findings and what happens during case preparation. This course is only open to students who have been admitted to the Bachelor of Law Enforcement Studies. Please see the BLES program page for more information, and for instructions on how to apply to the program.
