Course Details

This course is designed to educate and evaluate Driver/Operators in the use of Fire Department Mobile Water Supply Apparatus. It is accredited by IFSAC and meets the requirements of Chapter Four & Ten of the NFPA 1002 Standard on Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. Included in this interactive training is:Preventative Maintenance; Apparatus Maneuvering; Defensive Driving on Public Streets; Tender Fill Site Operations; Tender Dump Site Operations; Tender Shuttle Flow Capabilities and Drafting. A written and practical evaluation is required to ensure NFPA Standards are achieved. Successful students will have an appropriate mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to ensure the apparatus and personnel get to the scene safely and that the apparatus is utilized to its fullest potential. Upon request this course can be delivered to assist successful participants set up an in-house EVO program. A Fire and Safety Division EVO Evaluator must conduct practical & written evaluations to ensure IFSAC criteria are met. (EVO141). Prerequisite:NFPA 1001 Level 1 (accredited) Applicable class drivers licence (class 1, 3 or 5), with air brake endorsement.
