Course Details

This course provides an overview of administrative law. It focuses on the interpretation and application of administrative law principles used by the courts to review decisions of regulatory councils, boards, panels, commissions, and tribunals. As part of the Investigation and Enforcement Skills Certificate Program, this course will be of particular benefit to police officers, regulatory investigators, and inspectors employed by federal and provincial regulatory agencies, including municipal government and Crown corporations. Topics include: What is administrative law?; Administrative law and the Constitution; Administrative law principles; Judicial review; Natural justice and fairness; Judicial review discretionary remedies and General law (civil) remedies.
