Course Details

Explore the roles and responsibilities of an Emergency Program Coordinator (EPC) with respect to the components and phases of emergency management. Participants will learn about the skills and abilities required of EPCs, and identify support structures and resources that can assist EPCs in fulfilling their duties. The course will focus specifically on the role and responsibilities of the EPC before, during and after an emergency, and familiarize participants with the recommended elements to be included in a local authority emergency program. (Formerly EM142) COURSE FORMAT: This interactive two-day classroom-based course features scenarios, discussions and activities, and includes a take-home assignment to be returned within one month of completing the class. OTHER INFO: It is recommended that students take EMRG-1139 Developing Emergency Management Plans prior to taking this course. All course materials will be provided and no special equipment is required. Please note that all Emergency Management Division courses require 100% attendance.
