Course Details

EMRG-1330 is designed to familiarize participants with overall activities of the Operations Section within an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at the site support level. Information around roles, responsibilities, staffing, branch duties, site interface, resource management, and incident/status reporting are covered. The course provides participants with an opportunity to perform some relevant activities.

This course can be taken either online or face to face:

Online (requires active student engagement)
This instructor-led online course requires weekly participation and active engagement from students. Group discussion boards, exercises and activities provide the opportunity to engage with your fellow peers in the online Blackboard platform. Completion of these tasks are required to be successful in the course. You will be able to work at your own pace in order to meet the weekly course requirements. Students should be prepared to spend approximately 2.5 hours a week on this course. Students must complete all course requirements prior to the end date of the course. All material is provided within the course.

Face to Face
This is a one day classroom-based course. In addition to the scheduled public offerings, this course is available to organizations on a contract basis.

Other Details:
EMRG-1330 is an elective option in the Emergency Management Certificate Program and an elective option in the Emergency Management Exercise Design Program. All Emergency Management Division courses require 100% attendance.
