Course Details

A central part of the role of the community paramedic in British Columbia is to support clients with chronic diseases or requiring palliative care. In this course, learners will be introduced to the purpose of, and principles behind, chronic disease self-management and palliative care, and to the issues and needs of the older population. The course also covers how to support clients with the most common chronic diseases - diabetes, heart failure, and COPD - or who are at risk of harmful preventable falls.
