For over 30 years Thomas St. Laurent served British Columbians with a reputation for empathy, engagement and support for all those around him and particularly the paramedics. The Thomas St. Laurent Memorial Award is provided by his colleagues in honour of Thomas and his commitment to both professionalism in paramedicine and support of those with whom he worked.
The Thomas St. Laurent Memorial Award provides tuition support to students enrolled in the Diploma in Health Sciences (EMS), Primary Care Paramedicine (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedicine (ACP) programs. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to their fellow students through encouragement and service. Awards are intended to offset the costs of tuition and mandatory fees.
Value
One award of $1,000 is available annually.
Eligibility Criteria
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
- Currently enrolled, and in good academic standing, in the Diploma in Health Sciences (EMS) Diploma, Primary Care Paramedicine (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedicine (ACP) program.
- Demonstrated financial need not met by other available sources of funding, including student loans, grants, sponsorship, work income, etc.
- Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to their fellow students through encouragement and service.
