The J. Douglas Eastwood, QC Memorial Award was established in 2018 by his family, friends, and colleagues to recognize his outstanding service to JIBC and his many contributions to public service and the community.
Doug Eastwood served on the JIBC Board of Governors for six years between 2011 and 2017, including three years as Chair. He had a distinguished 27-year career with the BC Ministry of Attorney General and was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 2013.
Value
One award of $1,000 is available annually.
Eligibility Criteria
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
- Enrolled in an eligible degree, diploma, or certificate program of 10 credits or more.
- demonstrate involvement in school and/or community activities, especially volunteering, with a preference for applicants with experience working with youth. This must be supported by a letter of reference.
