Michelle A. Cameron

Michelle Cameron is a workplace investigator and mediator, with specialized expertise in post-secondary settings.

She served as a criminal intelligence analyst for the RCMP and as a senior investigator at the federal Civilian Review Complaints Commission investigating public allegations of RCMP misconduct. At the University of British Columbia’s Investigations Office, she investigated allegations of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and bullying and harassment involving students, faculty and staff. Following completion of a law degree, she is now articling with a law firm specializing in workplace investigations, mediations, and arbitrations.

Ms. Cameron holds bachelor of arts, bachelor of social work, master of social work, and juris doctor degrees from UBC, as well as a mediation/third-party intervention certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columba.

She is Dakelh, Frog Clan, and a registered member of Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nation in Burns Lake, B.C. She is active in her First Nation community, including sitting on its Electoral Code Reform Committee. She received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal in 2017 for her RCMP civilian member service, and in 2022, a UBC Envisioning Equality Award, which celebrates exceptional women and gender-diverse faculty and staff.
