Colin Watson

Colin Watson is the Chief Constable of the Abbotsford Police Department. Previously, he served 27 years with the Victoria Police Department, the last eight years as Deputy Police Chief.

He has extensive experience working on intra-organizational projects, committees and working groups, including serving as President of the B.C. Association of Municipal Chiefs of Police and a member of the Advisory Committee on Provincial Policing Standards. He has developed strong relationships with local and provincial governments and with partner agencies.

Chief Watson is committed to lifelong learning and actively seeks opportunities to influence the development of our emerging leaders. His long history of community service and volunteerism includes serving on the Boards of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Victoria, the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria, Better Business Bureau of Greater Victoria, and E-Comm 9-1-1.

He holds a master’s degree in law (LL.M - Administrative Law), a master’s degree in public administration (MPA), and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
