About the Event
JIBC's Centre for Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the Work-Integrated Learning office, is hosting a virtual panel for students who want to explore career paths and opportunities in this field.
Students in conflict resolution programs can have many questions about real-world practice and career options after graduation.
Common questions include:
- How do I get valuable experience?
- What are the career options available?
- How do I become a mediator?
- What are potential employers looking for?
The panel will take place online on Wednesday, March 26, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. It will include a one-hour, facilitated panel discussion with speakers from several organizations, followed by time for questions.
Speakers will include:
- Sharon Sutherland, Executive Director of Mediate BC
- Shelley John, Conflict Management Consultant at BC Public Service Agency
- Taylor Wilson, Director of Programs & Operations, Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association
- Moderator - Kent Highnam, Dean, JIBC's School of Health, Community & Social Justice
During registration, attendees will be invited to submit their questions in advance to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
