Course Details

Block I is the first of three training blocks that must be completed prior to obtaining full certification as a Certified Police Constable in BC. Over the course of the 14 weeks of Block I, Recruits learn the foundational tactical, legal, and physical skills to prepare them for their Block II practical field training component. These concepts are taught in an integrated case-based format, focusing on the most common calls on a regular patrol shift. Recruits knowledge, skills, and abilities are assessed according to the Police Sector Council National Framework of Police Constable Competencies. Each week of Recruit Training builds progressively to reach the overall competencies. Recruits also complete DRIV-1610 during this week.
