Course Details
This course will critically analyse the issues surrounding organized crime in society, advancing a sociological perspective. The analysis will primarily be grounded in theory as well as in an applied research approach that emphasizes a police and government functional and operational perspective. While concentrating on sociological and criminological theory, the approach to this topic is multi-disciplinary and will involve other fields, including economics, history, political science, psychology and deviant behaviour, criminal intelligence, and systems theory, among others.
