Course Details

Learners will gain knowledge and skills to provide effective administrative support as a Fire Officer II. Learners will acquire knowledge and skills to effectively develop and change policy, prepare divisional budgets, work within departmental purchasing processes and manage organizational change. The course also covers community partnerships and an introduction to labour relations.

This is one course in the JIBC Fire Officer program intended to meet the NFPA 1021 Standard progressing through the second level of Fire Officer Qualification, Fire Officer II (supervisory/managerial). The following areas of responsibility will be covered: human resource management, community and government relations, administration, inspection and investigation, emergency service delivery and health and safety.
