Course Details

Learners will gain knowledge and skills to provide effective administrative support as a Fire Officer I. Learners will gain knowledge about the organizational structure, function and authority of the fire department and will be introduced to key administration functions such as note taking, report writing, records management, budgeting, and policy.

This is one course in the JIBC Fire Officer program intended to meet the NFPA 1021 Standard progressing through the first level of Fire Officer Qualification, Fire Officer I (supervisory). The following areas of responsibility will be covered: human resource management, community and government relations, administration, inspection and investigation, emergency service delivery and health and safety.

Registration for FIRE-1100 requires enrollment in either the Fire Officer Program or the Fire Prevention Officer Program and verified by the JIBC Registration office.
