Course Details
Learners will gain knowledge and skills to deliver sound public education to their communities. Learners will explore the myths and realities of fire, human behaviour during fire emergencies, and strategies to effectively reach a variety of audiences. Methods of delivering fire and life safety education, selecting educational materials, working with the media, and evaluating program success will also be covered. Students completing FIRE-1206 will meet the NFPA 1035 Chapter 4 (Fire & Life Safety Educator I) standard.
This course is asynchronous with reading modules, learning activities, assignments, and discussions. Your instructor will inform you of virtual office hours. This course has an online proctored examination which will need to be completed within 10-days of the course end date.
