Course Details
This course provides learners with an overview of emergency management exercise design terminology, concepts, tools and processes. Learners will examine the cyclical nature of training and exercises and how these are formalized into exercise programs. Learners then apply a comprehensive exercise design process to develop components of a discussion-based exercise. Throughout this process, learners will examine critical design activities including the roles and responsibilities of exercise staff, developing relevant scenarios, identifying planning and resource considerations, and developing evaluation and continuous learning activities.
Course Structure
This online course is structured with weekly deadlines to keep learners on track and engaged in a fast-paced, interactive learning environment. Students are expected to participate actively in discussion boards, collaborate with peers, and complete assignments on a set schedule, ensuring steady progress throughout the course.
