Course Details

This blended course is focused on the process, forms, and requirements for three common supervision and custody orders. The learner will gain the knowledge and skills required to make a court application, prepare for court, and attend court. The online modules use case studies to take child welfare workers through the court process to the application. The on line modules provide practice with completing court documents, applying court timelines, and integrating the court process in ongoing case management. The face to face component of the course provides the opportunity for learners to apply the court process to a more complex case study in a simulated work environment. Practitioners will use tools authentically to interview a family, write a report to court, complete relevant forms and SDM tools, and attend a mock trial. This highly interactive session provides the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and consult with facilitators and Director's counsel.
