Course Details
Course delivery: The first 6 weeks of the course will be online followed by a 1 week break followed by 3 days face to face learning on campus.
This course builds on the knowledge and skills acquired and developed in BLAW-1000: Bylaw Compliance, Enforcement and Investigative Skills - Level 1, this advanced, 3-credit course prepares students for the complexities of bylaw compliance, enforcement and investigative work. Course content includes drafting bylaws, policies and procedures, advanced and complex investigation, court processes, enforcement options, strategies for crime prevention and for dealing with public disorder, risk management, collaborative intervention skills, officer safety and self-care including stress management. The course uses a blend of online learning and in class delivery. (Formerly BYLAW102)
NOTE:BLAW-1000 b> must be successfully completed and graded to register in BLAW-1005 b> as it is a required pre-requisite.
