Course Details

In this course learners will examine different administrative components necessary for support of operations within a fire department. Learners will gain an understanding of the importance of long range planning, operational guidelines, record keeping, health and safety programs, fire related bylaws and fire agreements in the context of managing risk and liability issues.

This is one course in the JIBC Fire Officer program intended to meet the NFPA 1021 Standard progressing through the fourth level of Fire Officer Qualification, Fire Officer Fire Officer IV (administrative). The following areas of responsibility will be covered: human resource management, community and government relations, administration, inspection and investigation, emergency service delivery and health and safety.
