The Dave and Mary Mitchell Bursary was established in 2022 by The Justice Institute of British Columbia Foundation (The JIBC Foundation) in recognition of Dave Mitchell’s outstanding contributions and volunteer service as a director between 2011 - 2014 and 2016 - 2022, three of those years as chair of the Board of Directors.
The purpose of the Dave and Mary Mitchell Bursary is to provide financial support for students in financial need enrolled in the Certificate in Fire Fighting Technologies (FFTC) program at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC).

Value
One bursary of $1,000 is available annually.
eligibility Criteria
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status;
Open to students enrolled in the Certificate in Fire Fighting Technologies (FFTC) at JIBC; and
Students must demonstrate financial need not met by other available sources of funding including student loans, grants, sponsorship, work income, etc.
