The Chief Rhonda Larrabee Bursary was established in 2025 by family in recognition of her significant contributions to raising awareness of Indigenous culture and history. Chief Larrabee has led the Qayqayt First Nation from obscurity to a community of almost 100 documented members and continues to serve as elected Chief.
Value
One bursary of $1,000 will be available annually.
Who Should Apply
The bursary provides support for Indigenous students in financial need enrolled in an eligible degree, diploma, or certificate program of 10 credits or more at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
Eligibility Criteria
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status;
Indigenous student enrolled in an eligible degree, diploma or certificate program of 10 credits or
more at JIBC; and
Demonstrate financial need not met by other available sources of funding including student loans,
grants, sponsorship, work income, etc.
