School of Public Safety transitions to a new structure.

We recently said thank you and farewell to Don Jolley, Interim Director of the Fire & Safety Division (FSD), as the School of Public Safety (SPS) transitions to a new structure. 

 

Over the past year, the Dean worked with People & Culture to evaluate the structure of SPS. We wanted to ensure that FSD and the Emergency Management Division (EMD) have the leadership needed to support their work. We also aimed to improve role clarity, address functional gaps, and build capacity through shared resources.

To achieve this, we created two new teams: a business planning and operations team, and a curriculum and accreditation team. Both of these teams will support the entire school. This will allow FSD and EMD Program Directors to concentrate on delivering education and training.

We created five new positions as a part of these changes:

  • Senior Manager, Curriculum & Accreditation
  • Program Manager, Accreditation
  • Financial Advisor
  • Maple Ridge Campus Operations Manager
  • Maple Ridge Campus Administrator
