Jack & Donna McGee Student Endowment Fund

After more than 11 years as President of the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), Jack McGee retired in the fall of 2012. Led by his strategic vision, JIBC expanded the foundational focus of the Institute on delivering training for justice and public safety professionals, to providing opportunities to BC students and learners from around the world for innovative education that leads to undergraduate and graduate certificates, diplomas, and degrees.

He also presided over the expansion of JIBC across the province, including the opening of campuses in Vancouver, Chilliwack, Victoria, Kelowna, and Pitt Meadows, and the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building at the New Westminster campus. Under his leadership, JIBC also expanded partnerships and eLearning capability, enabling the Institute to deliver education and training in more than 175 communities across BC and to thousands of students who study online.

Several years ago, Jack and his wife Donna established an endowment fund to recognize students’ educational achievements, and to assist students in financial hardship. The endowment reflects their commitment to, and passion for, public safety education. The endowment will increase access to financial support for JIBC students, which will help to attract new public safety professionals.

To mark Jack’s retirement, the JIBC Foundation is accepting donations to the endowment fund:
