About JPSD
Working closely with JIBC’s Police Academy, JPSD (created October 1, 2010) focuses on the design, development and implementation of academic certificate and diploma programs, as well as graduate and post graduate programs aimed at all professionals involved with justice and public safety.
Law Enforcement Studies
The goal of the Law Enforcement Studies Diploma Program is to provide you with the theoretical background, applied skills and specialized knowledge required to become a superior candidate in a recruiting process and have a higher possibility of success at the entry-level employment stage in a range of investigation and law enforcement occupations.
Continuing Professional Education
Our new Continuing Professional Education section delivers established courses to mid career professionals in a law enforcement or regulatory capacity, as well as customized training courses to students from various government agencies.
Advanced Police Training
We offer a number of police in-service courses that are designed for currently employed police officers. Many of these courses can be applied towards Certificates in "Sex Assault Investigative Procedures" and "Police Investigative Techniques and Procedures".
Security Training Programs
Our security training section is involved in the oversight of security schools and the development of training programs in the private security industry. A number of security training programs are available in either face to face or on-line delivery models.
International
Our International Training section is involved with the delivery of high level training courses as well as academic programs to law enforcement, security and regulatory personnel from a number of different countries. Customized training is also available in the areas of leadership, police operations, supervisory and management skills, and investigative programs.
